Connie Scanlon

Connie's interest in botanical art began while volunteering as a docent for children at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.  This experience introduced her to the world of botanical artist Maria Sibylla Merian and enrollment in the Minnesota School of Botanical Art soon followed.

Her background for many years as an intensive critical care nurse was a perfect backdrop for the attention to detail and tender loving care also requisite in botanical art.  She has exhibited at galleries in the United States and in 2013 was awarded a silver Grenfell metal at the Royal Horticulture Society in London for her series of paintings 'Preludes and Postludes on a Stem.'

She and her husband Jack raised three children and currently reside in Saint Paul, Minnesota with their dog Griffin.  She invites you to visit her website:
