Learn the art of drypoint printmaking at the Highpoint Center for Printmaking in Minneapolis
The Great River Chapter of the American Society of Botanical Artists has arranged for a class in drypoint printmaking to take place on Thursday, April 23 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Highpoint Center for Printmaking, 912 W. Lake Street, Minneapolis, MN.
Established in 2001, Highpoint is a non-profit community resource offering an “accessible, community-oriented facility” for learning the arts of printmaking. The space, opened in 2009, is fully equipped and beautifully laid out – with large open rooms to work in, and galleries to peruse as you enter from Lake Street.
Drypoint utilizes a stylus to engrave a drawing into a zinc
plate, which is then inked and printed. The pieces we will make will be printed with black ink, and each person will go home with a few prints of their drawing.
If you would like to join us, please register on the GRC website by April 22. The cost for GRC members is $15, payable in cash or by check to GRC at the session. Bring a 4” x 6” drawing to transfer to the zinc plate, and wear clothes that can get dirty (although aprons for everyone will be available).
See you there!
